Enjoy on it's own with a block of ice or add a little citrus and watch the Gin change colour from Blue to a sunrise Purple Pink so often seen at Britain's most easterly point. When I add an ice-cube, the strong flavours are muted; but the spiciness of cardamom (tastes like ginger) continues unabated. There are no artificial colours or flavours, it’s simply infused with the Blue Gardenia flower which grows in Thailand.

Gin Blue Line features a range of botanicals including forget-me-nots, Scottish heather, sage and kaffir lime leaves along with a number of classic gin botanicals. I want to note that the sample bottle I was given for this review was the older bottle style (see below).

This beautiful Gin makes use of our Handcrafted Old Tom Crisp as a base and is then proofed to Navy Strength before being infused with real Butterfly Pea flower for 10 days to produce this fabulous Navy Blue Gin that we hope Lowestoft can be so rightly proud of. When mixing the Pegu Cocktail I found the serving was much nicer when I remixed it using a new construction which used vodka and gin in equal amounts so as to give me the same strength of serving, but with the intensity of the florals reduced to half their strength.

Our Walter Smith True Blue Gin is a high quality blend of botanicals, produced by a multi award winning distiller based in Scotland. Mermaid Gin is a smooth yet complex blend of fresh organic lemon zest, the peppery notes in grains of paradise and a hint of sea air from fragrant rock samphire. So why choose between Blue Gin and Parma Violet Gin when you can have both in one convenient bottle? Lots of taste and it's gone down well with my sister in law who very much enjoyed sharing it with me 1 Saturday night. The Blue Gin is a refreshing and crisp gin with a tangy citrus taste, followed by subtle notes of juniper and coriander. The more familiar gin aromas of earthy juniper, spicy cardamom, lemon peel and orange citrus lie somewhat behind that floral intensity. Each batch is distilled, bottled and labelled by hand to ensure your Big Willy spirits are the best they can be.

Both gins are crafted using only the finest botanicals and are distilled to perfection, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable drinking experience. Juniper, clove, cinnamon and other botanicals are macerated for weeks into three times distilled grain alcohol and subsequently distilled in XIX century copper stills. Our Blue Gin can be combined with tonic water to create a beautiful subtle blue hue or create delicious cocktails which are blue in colour, such as the vibrant Sapphire Martini or the perfectly simple Bluebird. With a mixture of traditional and modern botanicals the Gin is Pot Distilled in small batches to create a complex and delicious drink. All of Big Willy Distillery's artisan spirits are expertly crafted using only the finest botanicals. Cupid Blue Gin is made with our Eau de vie de Vin and 11 botanicals found here at High Clandon in the beautiful Surrey Hills. The vibrant burst of juicy blueberries dances harmoniously with the crisp and refreshing notes of gin, while the subtle hint of vanilla adds a touch of velvety sweetness.

There is little burn in the throat followed by what I am going to describe as ‘a perfumed fade’ of juniper, orange peel and balsam. Putting his years of distillery experience to good use, Duncan renovated an old outbuilding on their family farm, purchased a traditional alembic copper pot still for making spirits and fitted a bespoke column, making for a lighter, yet vibrant gin.This gin boasts a sweet and floral flavour, reminiscent of the classic British candy, Parma Violets. It is the perfume-like quality of the gin which I do not find nearly so attractive this time around.
